TRAINING
If you are a teacher, health educator, school nurse, or other adult
volunteer who enjoys working with teens, then this training is for
you!
A comprehensive 1-day training course is available for adults
interested in facilitating the ASCENT program. The workshop
covers a variety of topics, including:
- Qualities necessary to conduct a group
- Physiological versus
psychological addiction to smoking
- Step-by-step discussion and
practice of each of the six sessions of the program
- Developing
a school policy on tobacco use
- Implementing booster sessions
Professional trainers who developed as well as conducted the ASCENT
program will also provide help with recruitment, retention, and
lessons learned from their experiences.
