Mitchell

MITCHELL

Mitchell

  Name: Mitchell
  Age: 18
  Age he quit smoking: 12
How long he smoked: 2 years

Q: Why did you quit smoking?

A: My grandmother smoked a lot. She had asthma and she smoked, so she had to be put on an oxygen tank. Besides that, I'm athletic. Smoking and being an athlete don't go hand in hand. Plus, I just don't want the smell of smoke on my clothing and my breath stinking all of the time.

Q: How did you quit?

A: My parents got involved; they talked to me. I got fed up with trying to do all of the things I wanted to do and smoking getting in the way of that.

Q: What was the hardest thing about quitting?

A: I felt like I needed a cigarette for the dumbest reasons. I had some cravings. And I was always around my friends, and they were smoking.

Q: Did you ever slip up?

A: No, I didn't.

Q: What is the worst thing about smoking?

A: Dying of lung cancer.
