WHY I SHOULD STOP
Since people have control over whether or not they first light
up that cigarette, smoking is viewed as the most preventable cause
of death in the United States. Programs aimed at youth prevention
and cessation should involve a personal commitment to quit by parents
who smoke. Research suggests that the sooner you quit smoking, the
more likely it is that your teen will quit as well. Even though
quitting may be very difficult for you, and it may take several
attempts, your quitting can also motivate your teen to quit.
